:hmm: Just bought a 2006 brand new navigation radio with the woodgrain trim on the side of radio.
i plan to install it in my 2005 cts with out woodgrain but have a few questions about the rest of the woodgrain package.

can the woodgrain trim be removed or is it part of the radio bezel?

if it can't be removed i want to purchase the rest of the woodgrain pacage for the center media stack, top heater vents, heater control bezel and the ashtray door piece, but i have no info on these pieces.

is the woodgrain trim on the top vents a separate overlay piece with a part number you can purchase or is it all part of the 2006 vent assembely?

also the heater control bezel and ashtray door or cover etc.
can the woodgrain trim for this unit be purchased by itself or do you have to buy the whole unit to get these pieces.

PLEASE HELP, and if anyone knows the part numbers for the parts i just talked about it would be VERY HELPFULL.

I know i can probably purchase the woodgrain trim aftermarket a lot cheaper than the factory pieces but it will not look the same and if i do it i want it done right and not to look cheap and aftermaket

thanks

:hmm: What did you pay for the new DVD NAV? Was it one the 2006s recently listed on eBay? Can't go wrong with brand new. I doubt if anyone has any experience with the new 2006 wood grain trim. I doubt if it could be removed with damaging. It looks good. I would add trim to match rather than remove the trim from the DVD NAV. Your sense of direction is getting ready to improve!

i paid $1200.00 for the unit but now looks like i am going to have to spend a lot more to match the wood trim or maybe just sell it and find a black one on ebay

:hmm: You don't want to get rid of a brand new DVD nav you only paid $1200 for. That's a great price for "brand new". You can try it without any other trim and see how it looks or try to match the other pieces in the center console. Don't throw in the towel yet.
