I want to thank everyone for there help in the past, I would check past posts and have resolved almost all of my issues!, That said, I have a 2006 DTS, and am having a hard time trying to figure out rear replacement shocks, I have air suspension, and Cant even figure out what the actual part # is? MY CAR has Delphi
0608021 15248782 G2A I found for sale 0616711 15248783 G2J, would these shocks work on my car?

Thanks in advance for any help,

The car does not have "air suspension". It uses standard hydraulic struts, shocks, and coil springs for suspension control. The air part comes in with the external shock bladders, height sensor(s), air lines and compressor/control head that is used to compensate for extra weight in the trunk or rear seat. It's officially called ELC - Electronic Level Control.

What is the suspension designation on the RPO sticker under the spare tire cover - FE1 (soft, passive suspension), FE3/F45 (active sport suspension) or FE3/F55 (Magnetic Ride Control sport suspension)? It makes a BIG difference in application and cost.

You might want to install a pair of Monroe shocks. basscatt knows all the part numbers and interchange data.

Thank you very much Submariner,
I understand my ELC suspension now and how it works, I just have been hearing the pump go on over the years and assumed air suspension, Never would have made a good mechanic
I'm afraid!, At any rate, my car is a FE1 passive suspension, That said if i was to consider the part # referenced in my 1st post (0616711 15248783 G2J) would I need to know the
"suspension designation" of the car they came off of?. I prefer a sportier ride if that's possible, I'm going to check out Basscatt and I thank you in advance for your help with my issue.
I'm on a very tight budget and don't want to make a mistake....THX

monroe ma822. had them in my car just about a year now with no problems and they're cheap... amazon has BOTH for 75$ shipped. they look different than the stock airbags, but bolt in and the air lines connect same as the old ones, and the system raises and lowers as it should. I had 400+lbs of rotors in my trunk last week and you couldn't even see it sag

I am in different situation, DTS PLATINUM 2010 needs both struts and shocks to be replaced ..

This will cost alot for MagneRide ..

Does it worth replacement or better to switch for Arnott passive ?
Thanks

Stay away from rebuilt Arnott struts/shocks.

Yes, replacement of the F55 Magnetic Ride Control struts/shocks is very expensive. Necessary if you want to keep the high performance active suspension. If you want to go soft ride passive, Monroe makes excellent struts/shocks for your car. www.rockauto.com
