Hi My 2006 dts ignition key will not turn the ignition tumblers to start the engine, the key goes in the switch but wont turn on, I then used My second set and that worked fine, how would I correct this. Thanks Tony.

Hi , the problem was the key I use to start the engine was slightly bent, I made the key straight, now it starts fine. I will get a new key from cadillac, not sure if the new key will have to be programed, Thanks Tony.

Thank you for the update. Glad it was a simple fix. I don't think the key would have to be reprogrammed, if you are referring to the physical key. You will need to have your second set handy though, as I would imagine they would use that to cut a new one.

You can but a key off EBay and have it trace by a dealer or lock smith
If you have a black key you can program a new key. If it’s gray it will not program a new key.
Start your car with the black key, turn car off and with 10 seconds, start the car with the new key.
Turn off the car, new key was programed.
