I have a 2006 CTS-V with a T56 6 speed manual. I'm having an issue where it's occasionally difficult getting into reverse. Sometimes when I stop and try to put it into reverse and it just will not go in. I have to roll the car forward or back a bit and then it'll get into reverse. Other times it goes in smoothly without issue.

It does have a creative steel short shifter in it.

Any clues as to what the problem could be? Bad synchros? Linkage needs adjustment?

Could be bad synchros, could be bad hydraulics. When was the last time the clutch hydraulics were bled?

I had these symptoms on my T56 car. Difficult to get into reverse. Eventually, it would only go to reverse with the car off. Solved by bleeding the hydraulics.

Unsure if the clutch hydraulics have ever been bled.

I'll add that to the list for next time it gets serviced.
