Just bought an 05 STS.

I'd like to spice up the grille area a bit, but so far the only 2 options I know of are
1. wire mesh
2. update front end to 2008+

While I'm a fan of wire mesh on many vehicles, the egg crate grille is a Caddy classic design, and I'd kind of like to keep it. Plus the mesh is on the "V" and i've never been a fan of "false advertising" Always reminds me of those people who would put 5.0 badges on their 4 cyl mustangs.
I like the 08+ grille but it seems like that would be pretty pricey by the time it was done.

Is there anything else out there? perhaps a more chromey (a'la 08+) grille that replaces the 05.. ?

I do like the "in your face" grille of the 2008+ vehicles and I'm watching fascias and grilles for 08's and may make the switch. However, the Platinum editions prior to 08 had a very similar grille that will fit in our 05 thru 07 fascias--very tempting. It depends on if you want to scrounge men's malls or order off line.

Platinum Edition is the way to I think, I love the 08 but all said it done it was real pricey. The Platinum Edition grille is hard to come by but I just got one from a local Caddy guy and he has a few more if you like I'll see if he can ship it to you if your outside of MI. It cost me 75 bucks which I think is a steal. Here is a photo of it before I put it on my 05 sts. good luck

Alother option would be painting the stock grill the car's body color. Remember the previous generation (Seville) had this done from the factory on the later models and I thought it looked good. There are a few posts here if you do a search, to see what it looks like on a 2005+. It looks better on some colors than others IMHO. I was thinking about doing this on my Moonstone 2005...just another option to consider.

You can peel your current one off and just pick up some 3M automotive tape to re-attach it to the new grille.

That's what I did for my mesh.

Why don't you try the sixteen grille, it's very nice and it has the traditional Cadillac eggcrate style. I would have purchased one a long time ago but they don't have them for ACC.
