Well guys. I found a 2004 Yukon Denali with only 10,000 miles that I am looking to buy. I want to know what you guys think. The Denali has 26" Bazo wheels, navigation/video unit, tinted windows, tinted tails, and a tv/video monitor. If I buy the Denali, I will be trading my 2005 Escalade with 24,000 miles that has 22" wheels, headrest monitors, E&G Classic Vertical grille, and is fully loaded with touchscreen navigation. Here are a few pictures of both my Escalade and the Denali. Please voice your opinions.

Why would I do this? I am getting a sweet deal where this guy with his Denali is giving me cash up front. I will not disclose the amount, but it is a lot, and I am getting the car shipped to me and my Escalade taken from me free of charge. I will be getting paid to drive this Denali. I believe this is an awesome deal. It is the exact same specifications as my Escalade just with better upgrades. The exact same engine (6.0L V8). I don't care about an emblem on a car. Whether it says GMC or Cadillac, they are both great quality car companies. These cars are about 95% the same.

Thanks.

Seems as those you are not sure yourself or thread wouldn't exist. :p
I wouldn't do it. I can tell you that.
That is true. I am not 100% sure myself. I wanted to know if there were any big differences anyone could point out to prove my 95% similiarity rating wrong. Besides the fact that one says Cadillac and one says GMC, I really don't see why I shouldn't. Any other facts. Keep in mind, I am a young person. I'm only 17 years old and try to imagine what you would want at 17. Does having a Cadillac really make that much of a difference from a GMC?

Thanks.

I'd be suspicious of the deal overall, run a carfax of the car to see if its been wrecked or seriously damaged.

Just from that one pic it seems to have been repainted in the front and rear bumpers. What is really throwing me off is that lower grill piece in the front bumper, no one paints those unless it got repainted a some shop that didn't know any better.

I just figured I'd give you a heads-up, some deals are too good to be true. If its clear, take the money and pick up the denali. Both are great trucks and like you said essentially the same. Just ask yourself,... why then is he giving you money for your lac?? Dealers rarely lose out.

In our eyes yes, thats why we spent the extra money and got the Cadillac.
and I have no regrets. None.
You make a good point my friend. We will see how it turns out. If the numbers are right, then I will do it. I honestly don't know. I'm still waiting to get some more facts on the Denali. It has a list of modifications so I am checking out each one. I will keep you all updated. Maybe it is worth keeping my Escalade. I still don't know. I have somet thinking to do. I appreciate your comments and I will take them into consideration when I make my decision. For now, it's up in the air. :hmm:

Thanks.

You are completely correct. I was very suspicious at first and I decided, what the heck, let me give them a call. I called them and he pulled out the car fax report and I asked if it had any damage or any repairs. He said none. I asked all the essential questions. I made sure it is the 10,000 original miles (no new cluster). It is original. The front bumper and the rear bumper were definitely painted. I realized that, but I do know that a lot of Denali and Yukon owners like to paint the bumpers to make them match the truck more. I believe they are not completely white when they come from the factory. They have chrome and everything in them. I noticed chrome tow hooks and I gave the dealer a long list of questions I want answered. I will not take this vehicle unless all the questions are answered to my liking. It really is a great looking truck, especially for a kid like me. Haha! Does anyone know what type of navigation unit that is in the little, tiny picture?

Thanks.

You two 300 guys are very tempting. I don't think the 300C SRT-8 is going to happen with me, but I think I will end up getting one in the family. My mom wants it now, and I believe she is ordering one this winter.

Honda4x4nut:
I heard about the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty which will expire in January of 2007. I spoke with the salesman about it and he filled me in on the extended warranty that is offered on the vehicle to 50,000 miles (I think). Anyways, we will see. Once again, I need to see how the numbers come out. Keep in mind the Denali only has 9,853 (something like that) miles. Under 10,000.

Thanks.

Haha! That is the truck. I just spoke with the owner. It was a contingency deal with the dealership. The owner was still driving the vehicle while the dealership was trying to sell it and he decided to put it on eBay as well. It has a little over 10,000 miles on it and he is willing to accept a lot less than the dealership was. I just need to see how much shipping would cost for the truck and then I am golden.

Thanks.

I would be worried that he would never deliver. Buy bigger wheels, that's the only thing he has over you.
I think that's what is going to happen. I am having second thoughts. I don't know about it anymore. My parents are also like asking me all these questions and making me worry. Like, what if the car is a lemon? It is making me think hard about the car. I don't know. I guess I will just keep my Escalade and do some more work on it. I was already considering bigger rims. Either 24" or 26" Asanti AF 211 B. Something about this Denali really stood out.

Thanks.

If its a dealer deal and its even close to being to good, then something is wrong. In this market dealers are not just thowing money for escalades or to move one big suv for another. Something has got to be wrong with that truck, its either unsellable or just waiting to pop.

Dealers dont even do paperwork for free...

hey there bud last time i checked you said you were looking to buy the denali in your original post -not get paid to take the denali and drop your car...but this was a bit of a loaded question beings you are asking the question on a cadillac forum. for a less biased opinion you might try a toyota or nissan group:bouncy: i've always dreamed of having a cadillac myself and now at 25 i have exactly what i wanted. if you keep up this pace of nice cars you'll probably have a ferarri or lambo by the time you get to 25. whatever you're doing it seems to be working for you so i think you oughta go with your instinct on this one......
