I haven't been on this site for a year because I haven't had a Cadillac,
I sold all of my vehicles last year and moved back to my home state of Montana.
I have been restless and bored, the reason, I had NNS, No Northstar Syndrome.
I remedied that yesterday and bought an 05 base Deville for $900. I now have purpose and LOADS of projects.
Glad to be back!

If there are no major problems you got a fantastic bargain. How did you find it?

Craigslist car, watched it for several weeks and due to conflicting schedules was not able to drive it.
I walked around it and looked underneath though because it was on a very public street. It of course has issues but nothing catastrophic, at least not yet anyway. ( ELC problems, tires, struts, )
I will replace all major suspension components with in the next few months.
Today was coolant, transmission & power steering fluid exchange day and a every light engine clean. It was so dirty & Dusty that I couldn't bring myself to take a picture before the first wash. Interior is filthy, so Thursday & Friday I will be pulling the interior and then clean carpets and through seat and seat mechanism detail.
I was happy enough with under the back seat. Very dirty but no unpleasant suprises,

Interior color is Shale/Neutral Shale.

Get the leaves and stuff out from inside the HVAC air intake grille under the windshield. Too easy to clog the A/C evaporator core fins.

Its the dustiest car I've ever owned. It spent it last 9 years going from a ranch at the end of a long dusty gravel road, winter, spring, summer fall. I think I removed 40 -50 lbs of dirt and gravel from the under carriage. Look at the picture of the ELC PUMP, I'm amazed that its working pretty good now. I cleaned and lubed and replaced intake hoses and its working as its supposed to.
This picture is re is after test drive with new rear suspension, coil springs, shocks, sway links & bushings, AND minus more dirt and gravel then I ever could have imagined.
Next week it is front suspension, strut, spring, mount Monroes and sway link and bushings. I may do a motor mount while I'm in there.

After 1 month.
I have been cleaning, polishing and fixing on it to include.
New rear coilsprings and shocks, also changed sway bar links and bushings.
New Monroe quik-struts up front, sway links /bushings.
2 cheap Walmart tires up front to match the 2 on the rear. Not my choice of tires but these 16" fugly rims have to go so I don't care that they are Douglas all season tires. I've located a set of 17" chrome trims off of an 03 Deville DTS that will have some better tires on them.
I've repaired the 2 rear window regulators, ( cotter pin fix).
The car drives and rides fantastic.
I took it out of town Thursday for its first shake down drive, 70 miles of highways and winding mountain hills followed by a 26 mile gravel washboard road. Smooth as silk.
No vibration
No run hot
No codes
27ish mpg.
Very pleased

NICE JOB -
I agree - those stock wheels sure don't do much for the car -
I really like the chrome 14 spoke 2003 DHS wheels -

next job will be to replace the digital dash with the analog cluster -

Yeah, don't know if I'm up to that.
Sounds like a lesson in frustration.
I do like the analog cluster dash though.

====================
it's really not that difficult -
the HARDEST part will be to find an analog cluster with similar mileage
