This DTS with the optional Gage display has 114 K miles on it. Today while returning from a 25 mile trip, I noticed that the Tach was at Zero, the Speedo was at Zero, the Odometer is out and the Trip Odometer is out. Also the Information Center is dead. Everything was working during the first half of the trip.

The Temp Gage and the Gas Gage still work.

What could be the cause of this problem today?

Re: HELP - 2005 Deville Speedo & Tach, no display.

Thanks basscatt.

Today, I will try to check for codes. But with my information display dead, i'm not sure where the codes will show?

Since this outage affects the center of the dash display, could the problem be with a fuse?

It's not a fuse.

You'll have to have that codes pulled with a scan tool that does more than just P codes. Most parts stores will only have scanners that pull P codes only.

But before you take it anywhere, try disconnecting BOTH battery cables, and touching them to eachother.

Okay, I followed the instructions for the DIC Diagnostics.

DIM None ID 4360
IPC None ID 5391
IPM 50249 History
IRC U2150 History B2463 History

Then I shut off the DIC. Then I started car and all of the dash is working. Cant figure that out? Intermittent problem?

Use this to decipher - and post - the definitions of your 3 found codes.

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm

B 0249 is an HVAC blend/diverter door malfunction.

The U and B codes say there's something wrong with NAV.

The 2 module numbers are IDs - not trouble codes.

The diagnostics readouts should have cycled through 12 - 15 modules/systems in alphabetical order. It takes a while - and the first 2 numbers you posted are module ID numbers, not trouble codes.

Thanks all-

Ok, I took the time to look up the codes in the link provided above. So these are the only ones that should apply to the dash gage problem.

U2150 I read this one to mean: Navigation ECU Gateway Communication Error.

Now, can someone explain what exactly this means?
I am thinking this must just be a one-time problem because when I started the car after reading the codes everything on the dash worked.

UPDATE.......

I have been driving the car for the past two days and everything on the dash is working correctly. I will keep watch for any failures.
