i am trying to bring a 2004 deville back from the brink of death. i'm having a few issues i'm dealing with. 1. all cigarette lighters do not work, although all the fuses are good. 2. all of the heated and cooled seats do not work. it started with the drivers side then they all went out. 3. the drivers side mirror doesn't turn downward when the car is shifted into reverse. just 3 for now. more to come as i get deeper into it. any help would be appreciated.

Electrical diagnosis is NOT my thing, but I can tell you that only the passenger side mirror is supposed to "curb" in reverse.

BTW, :welcome:

It's not clear what you mean by 'all of the heated and cooled seats'.

Only the front seats are heated and cooled. The rear seats are heated only.

Just to make sure you checked all the fuses. There are 2 fuses under the hood that are electrically fed from a larger fuse under the rear seat.

When all else fails, read the owner's manual. The cigarette lighters (fuses and RAP) and passenger mirror to curb are addressed in there.

when you say you checked ALL THE FUSES -
did you check the fuses in the engine compartment fuse block -
#22 and #23 - are the cigar lighter fuses -

there are also fuses/relays under the back seat -
fuse #65 is for the cigar lighter - and relay #58 is for the cigar lighter -

all the fuse locations are listed in the Owners Manual - starting on page 5-100
------------

all of the heated and cooled seats do not work
the heated seat fuses are #6 - #16 - #36 and #37 in the back seat fuse block -

the drivers side mirror doesn't turn downward when the car is shifted into reverse
like MC said - it's not supposed to -
only the right side mirror has the "curb-view" part of the FEATURE PROGRAMMING -
as described on page 2-45 in the Owners Manual -

Go into Seville and use the sticky post "Cadillac Owner's Manuals download".

Let me see if I can duplicate the sticky here. There is info all over these forums - ".............. you better shop around !"

EDIT: The posts with the most recent sites for manuals are up in a sticky ^^^. As always, Google can also be used to find owners manual download sites.

I have 2005 deville also heated and cool seats, I have had this car for 2 1/2 years the heated seats never did work. But I noticed one thing if I left the key on for a bit the battery would die but a quick charge and no trouble starting even in winter. Past weekend I was looking at replacing my valve gasket and left the key on. Car would not start I replaced the battery with a new one. And now my heated seats work also the cool. Is it possible that a battery will start the car but not run all the extras on it? George

a much more likely scenario would be a bad ground that was re-established
while replacing the battery -

with the engine running -
the battery does NOT power the accessories - the alternator does -
