We have a 2004 CTS that is having problems with the driver's seat not adjusting.
This is the second time for this problem in a vehicle with extremely low milage. The prior instance six month's ago was
corrected by our grandson. (We are unable to contact him to find out how he fixed it.) Now the seat made clicking sounds
but doen't move when pressing the memory swith or the seat controls.
Perhaps more importantly, when I checked all fuses in the fuse panel under the rear diriver's seat, the 30A Seat CB was
extremely hot and burned a finger. Right away I disconnected the battery cable.
Prior to this happening the seat would adjust properly, at times, and other times would work intermittantly.
I then checked under the seat and there was nothing that could prevent seat movement.

I sure would appreciate being able to understand the problem and receiving answers to the obvious questions:
Is the corrrect CB installed?
If so, why is the CB overheating without tripping?
Any suggestions of where to look for the cause of the problem?

Thanx,
-Mert

I would suspect if the fuse is getting hot the circuit is getting overloaded.
Is it the 10a MSM fuse thats getting hot or the 25A/30A seat circuit breaker getting hot also?
If the circuit breaker is getting hot (location is as labelled in diagram) and was going open the fault causing the breaker to open would most likely be a damaged wire in or near the drivers seat, seems yours isn't going fully open, perhaps the breaker is at fault?

You may also want to check see if the motor for the seat is getting hot if it is, that is your problem it must be internally shorted, be careful though if it is hot not to burn yourself!
