I'm trying to switch out the bad with the new one .. wats the best way to do tht and wat size battery do I need to get for it

This guy shows how to do it and which tools you will need. Allow several hours the first time you do it...it is not a quick swap until you do it a few times (I can do one in about 30 min now). You also mentioned the battery...a 101 is the correct size. However mine had a 78 wedged in place when I bought the car. It worked but is not ideal.

Also, DO NOT get a store brand or other generic reman alternator unless you want to do this install numerous times! I installed a Carquest four times in a month before I got one that didn't squeak or groan...the last one worked okay for about a year before it smoked my battery. I finally returned it and got an ACDelco reman...works perfectly! I would also be comfortable with a Denso.
