The speedometer on my 2003 EXT does not reset when switching off the engine, it sits at a random speed, can be as high as 90mph

When driving, it seems to use this starting point as zero - just finished a long trip with the dial indicating something approximating 140mph

The trip computer and cruise still work so it seems that the problem is with the dial itself? No Cadillac dealers over here in the UK

So, is this a common problem and is there a known fix?
Can I buy just the dial if that is what is needed rather than the complete binnacle - and is it easy to swap over?

You will have to find someplace to get the cluster exchanged or repaired.
Over here we send them to a "authorized delco electronics repair facility".
I am not sure how GM of Europe operates though.
Is this an Export vehicle or a US vehicle that you took over there?

Is the vehicle out of warranty?

Its a US vehicle I had shipped over, the Escalade was never sold officially in the UK so we have no dealer network etc

Not to worry, will have to use the portable GPS as backup to see how fast I'm going:bigroll:

If you have a GPS to use that is cool. The cluster will have to be repaired.
The odometer should still work fine.
When you get back to the states you should be able to get it fixed.
Not sure how much that will cost if you are out of warranty.
