Hey all, new to the CT’s and telling you I love mine so far. I have a 2003 CTS and I have a couple of questions:
1. When I am starting to slow down I have a a howl from the rear of the car asked my mechanic and he said it has a corvette differential and is a posi unit Should there be a howl??
2. When I am in sport mode and want to manual shift I have 2 things that I have never seen, car will automatically shift at about 6000 rpm wont even hold out to red line. And it automatically shifts, I can have the shifter in 2 nd and it will go thru all the gears by it self.
I guess 1 more question what is the shut off speed. ???

thanks for any input.

If your mechanic thinks your CTS has a Corvette differential then you should probably find a new mechanic. Just like every other car on the road, no, your rear differential should not howl.

I don't own a V6, so I can't answer question #2, but I would guess the Owner's Manual discusses sport mode and how the transmission should behave.
