This is probably stupid, but I got a second factory sub out of a junkyard deville for nothing. 10"(?) front sub and I wanted to add it to the rear where there's space for it. It would theoretically be easier to just tap into the front one, but I don't think there's room in that dash up there. What I need to know is can the factory amp support another factory sub, and what's the best way to wire it into the back under the window? If not, could I add another 2 channel amp inline to cover the extra wattage needed?

Thanks for indulging my bass lust.

moderator edit: I'm moving this back to the Deville page and changing your title to reflect the correct year model . -1969byrdman

no such thing as a stupid question. I can't answer your direct question, but you might try on the forum page dedicated to audio/nav, etc.
Also, hate to nitpick, but your 2009 car is a DTS, not a Deville. The Deville name died at the end of the 2005 model year. Unless somebody added a badge, I don't think you'll find the word Deville anywhere on your car.

Re: 09 DTS adding extra sub. Can it be done?

In my infinite attention to detail, I made a typo somehow; I have a 2002 deville dts. Appreciate the advice. I will just make a post in the audio. I usually just lurk in this subforum because I could never afford a different caddy lol

Nice to see another 2002 Cadillac Deville Deville Touring Sedan in Cadillac Forums.com. Your DTS acronym is the real thing; the 2006 and later "DTS" means nothing - just alphabet soup.

Doesn't your car have the woofer in the rear deck? Tweeters and mids are in the doors and dash.

The RPO sticker will tell you which sound system was installed as original. If it's the Bose system, the speakers are special low impedance units and the amps are very finicky about wiring and original impedances.

www.compnine.com for a $5 subscription which gets you a complete RPO/build sheet for your particular car plus any other 4 cars you like.
