has anyone replace their rack and pinion them selfs or does the cradle need to drop for it to come out .i have 2001 with 90 k i think its about time the boots are ripped and grease has got out

YES -

i think its about time
the boots are ripped
and grease has got out

there is no grease in the PS rack -
it is lubricated by Power Steering fluid -

yeah i meant i was also getting the axle boot grease out as well need to replace the green grease that get all over bottom

so - what is the problem with the PS rack?

I recommend replacing the axle
rather than screwing around with cleaning - repacking - and zipper boots -

From the sound of it, he has torn axle boots, nothing wrong with the steering system.
