Just changed the pads and rotors in this SLS. Now when moderate to excess pressure is applied to the brakes it sounds like 100 shaolin monks giving a low hum in unison. Rotors were carefully cleaned prior to installation, and calipers compressed normally in the rear via the twist-in mechanism. Confirmed it was the rear by depressing the parking brake while driving to replicate the sound. It is not likely the dust shields, as the vibration gets them to rattle independently after a few moments.

Any ideas on this one? Thanks!

Did you align the piston detents with the nipples on the back of the brake pads when you installed them?

I did not. I'm by no means a Cadillac tech (or GM for that matter), so info like this helps a ton. I'll pull it apart later and get it aligned properly. Thanks for the advice!

The right piston was off by a quarter of a rotation. Problem solved, and thanks for the help.
