Hello,

Since about 1 year into my lease, I come out to my car and my battery is DEAD! The rodside guy replaces it for free and I'm on my way. This happened about 4 times in 1 year. The roadside guy said it was the Vegas heat and he sees it all the time. 7 or 8 batteries later, it is getting more frquent. This car is in the garage ALL DAY. Can anyone tell me if this is common to this model or what my problem might be? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Most good garages have a gadget (I forget what the name of it was) that will detect if both the battery and the alternator is working properly. Have them use it to check your alternator, to make sure its adaquatly charging your battery. Then, if there's no problem there, get a voltmeter (any generic brand will do). After the car has been sitting for about an hour, look in the fuse boxes and check for parasitic drains by sticking the probe needles for the voltmeter on both of the two bare metal places on the top of each fuse. If all is well, the voltmeter will read '0' for every fuse. If it ever reads anything then you should pull that fuse and see if your battery dies without the fuse in place.
