Good evening, Your CF account is activated. Welcome aboard !!!!

Please do not dredge up old threads, dead for over 5 years. Post your own thread with your own problem.

You NEED to do some homework in the Deville, Seville, Engines; Northstar and Cadillac Tech Tips forums for insight into the engine cooling system, gauge, and fan operations. You probably did not need a new thermostat in the first place.

One of the early symptoms of the head gasket failure is getting hot under load. I suggest to start with the block test.

It doesn't mean it will do it everytime. I have failing headbolts and things such as the outside temp can affect whether it does it on a hill or not.
