I think I might have overdone it with my new 20" wheels.

This is a 2007 V6 STS and the original stock wheels were 17". It looks a little too pimped for my taste and the ride is a lot harder. I also think it might look better with brushed alloys instead of the polished chrome. My wifes CTS has the brushed alloy finish and it looks great with the silver body.

I'm wondering how it would look with the 18" wheels from an STS Platinum Edition. Is it even possible to get these from a Cadillac dealer?

Does anyone have any suggestions. I want it as comfortable as my old Seville SLS, drive like the stock v6 STS, but look like an STS-V. ;)

Looks good... lose the stripe. Man I wish PIN STRIPES would be outlawed

Here is my baby on 20s... I would not go any larger than that. Watch out for potholes

Thanks guys. I guess I'll keep them then. I'm starting to get used to the harder ride. It's not uncomfortable, just different. It doesn't help that I came from a mattress-like ride in my Seville SLS. :)

Looks good. I'm still waiting for mine. Should be here is a couple weeks. Though, if you want yours to look like a v, you will need to get a v-style hood!

...and the ride is a lot harder.
Your ride quality went into the crapper because the extreme low-profile tires installed on your wheels are inherently harsher than the OE tires. They look like their aspect ratio is .30, as in (just guessing here) 265/30-R20 size. (A tire's aspect ratio is the ratio of sidewall height to tire width.) Factory-installed tires have .45 or.50 aspect ratios, as in my STS's OE Michelin Pilot Sport 255/45-R18. The smaller the aspect ratio (i.e., the shorter the sidewall), the harsher the ride since there is less sidewall to flex and soak up pavement irregularities. Cars that come from their factories with low profile tires, like the Corvette, have suspensions engineered to tune out much of the inherent harshness of their tires. The STS suspension is engineered to provide a Cadillac ride with the tires fitted at the factory. The "rubber bands" on your wheels are necessary to keep the overall tire/wheel diameter within the wheel wells. You may find suspension bushings that will improve your ride quality. If you do, you could then pay a suspension shop $hundreds to install them.

You choose: 20" wheels, low-profile tires, harsh ride, or 18" wheels, OE-size tires, and Cadillac ride.

PS: The wheels do look good, and I agree with you that brushed-finish wheels would go better with your silver car.

queritor,

Your car is hot.
Polished or brushed may look better, but you don't have any reason to make excuses for the way it looks now.
Wonder if they make those in a 6 lug for my SRX?

I would 'prolly lose that pinstripe also.

Queritor, im tryin' to buy the foose 20's for sale on a STS in the forum classifieds, if that doesn't work out, and even if it does, i like you wheels and i'd rather have something more stock looking like yours as opposed to the flashy foose wheels. If your at all interested in selling please PM me. I dont get over to the STS part of this forum often. Better yet just email me at [email protected], please let me know one way or the other. In closing-nice STS!

Nope, check the bolt pattern, (5) ebay guy had them mislabeled, no mention of Caddy just titled them as 18" 5x115.
