Does anyone know of a direct test comparing the 2.0 and 3.6 rwd cts's performance properties. I've only seen brief mentions of the two cars small difference in 0-60 and mpg but I would love to see a more elaborate comparison!
I think the performance between them are pretty close, if not identical. I know I tested both before buying and thought the 2.0T actually felt a little faster. Certainly, it has more torque off the line.
and check motor trend and Edmunds for reviews. The 3.6L doesn't have enough torque so the performance is is about the same as the 2.0T. Cadillac shouldn't even offer the 3.6L. Use the 3.6L twin turbo instead and turn it down to 330HP/330 ft lbs of torque.
Another difference you'll see in some of the tests is that the lighter weight of the 2.0T benefits handling. The 3.6 sounds better, doesn't require premium, and is stronger at high speeds. The 2.0T is lighter, stronger around town, and may get better MPG.
I had a 2.0T ATS and now have a 3.6 CTS. The 3.6 isn't as quick feeling, but I love the sound of it. That 2.0 sounded a little whiney sometimes to me. The 3.6 is very nice for cruising. The 2.0 was more fun in the city.
