What is the difference between 1SF and 1SG and what do they mean?

Are these unique to the 2005 STS. I have a STS brochure and I don't see these referenced. I assume I have the 2006 brochure, although there's nothing in the brochure that states it is 2006. I just picked it up today.

They are the designations for the various option packages.

1SG is the V8 Premium Lux package for 2005. The only additional options beyond that package were a la carte for the ACC, AWD and the Handling (Mich ZR tires and perf. brake linings) package.

For 2006 I believe they have integrated all except the AWD & the Handling pkg. into the packages. I do not know if they kept the same designators.

You need to go to a Cadillac dealer and ask them for the full blown STS brochure. They keep it in their stash and it has all the details of the option packages. You may have to convince them you're serious depending on the dealer. I have the 2006 1SF with Tuscany Leather, 18" wheels, so all I'm missing is the HUD, AWD, and the ZF steering ............. I think.

I've got the full blown brochure, I believe. The trim packages beyond the standard are as follows:

V-8
Luxury Package
Luxury Performance Package
Premium Luxury Performance Package

V-6 is the same as the V-8 less the Premium Luxury Performance Package.

I didn't see any reference to 1SF

And you won't (except @ GMBuypower.com). All the marketing materials go by the name of the package not the code.

The codes are printed on the window sticker (in most cases) and on the dealer invoice.

Don't get hung up on them as we just use them here to simplify the explanation of what we are talking about and for our captions as there isn't enough room to spell it out. If you are interested based on what we are saying here then go to the website and then you can cross-reference them from there.

Find/buy what works best for you and THEN you will know exactly which package you have...;)

And a different cooling package I think too on the 1SF (Power Steering or something I think).
