1999 Early model removing shifter knob to replace boot

I have a 1999 Catera Early model and would like to know how to remove the shifter knob to replace boot.

I bought that boot set on EBay but it's for the standard shifter, my catera is a automatic, so I ordered another one for a 99 to 2003 Omega b, automatic, and it fit's my 2000 catera perfectly,
