After working intermittently for the past year, the blower motor finally quit yesterday along with the smell of burnt electronics. I want to replace it.

For replacement, you remove the black bar on the struts. then you remove the ICM. Then, if you tilt the engine using the turnbuckle, do you still have to remove the rear cam cover? The replacement will most likely be the new design blower.

Also when tilting the engine, is there a risk to damaging wires or hoses or fuel lines connected to it?

Using the turnbuckle method won't completely clear the cam cover, but will give you enough room to wiggle it in. Remember, there is a little flex in the housing and the squirrel cage. The trick is to flex it as least as possible and tilting the motor accomplishes that.
You won't be able to move the motor enough to damage any wires or fuel lines.
