I have a 1998 STS, the Traction Control light comes on when I turn on the lights and start driving. Its summer now so I don't drive much at night. All day long its fine. I did put LED bulbs in for the tail lights and and brake lights instead of incandescent. I don't think the problem started until I replaced the Rack and Pinion. I have re-seated the connector to the module.

I have seen some other threads that say it was the 3rd brake light that caused the issue. Anyone ever seen this changing to led bulbs? Guess I may have to put the old bulbs back to test.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

It seems every time someone switches to LED's, there are problems of some sort. Not saying that is your problem, but a switch back would be a good test. That said, have you pulled the DTC's?

Yeah, that ^ ^ ^

The tail and brake lamp circuits are monitored for voltage and current draw. In many cases, if the replacement bulbs do not fall into the OEM incandescent resistance range it triggers all sorts of lighting and brake system hiccups.

Think: The system "sees" grounded/open wires or burned out filament faults.
