Has anyone experienced installing Corsa Cat Back exhaust system on a 1996 STS ? The Corsa catalogue starts at 1999.

Re: 1996 STS Corsa CatBack

There is no CORSA for a 1996. Different exhaust system and routing compared to the 1998 and later models. FWIW the system for the later Sevilles is almost extinct. Demand is zippo, so the light is out at the end of the tunnel.

Let's move this from the electronic Cadillac User Experience discussions to the Seville forum.

Your best bet for a tiny gain from an exhaust for a 1996 would be to have a GOOD shop mandrel-bend a catback using 2/5" s/s pipe. Well over $1,000 with decent mufflers.

It's the sound I'm after....not more HP. Would I accomplish this with a catback 2.5" system?

EVERY combination of muffler, resonator, resonator delete has its own characteristic sound. Mix & match. You're on your own - Google "cadillac northstar engine exhaust sound you tube" or something close.

Without seeing the car, the quote I got from the closest custom muffler shop that uses a mandrel (Port Coquitlam, BC)........ will tig-weld pieced T304SS for $2500 to $3500......or option 2 ....custom mandrel built aluminized 2.5" $1600 - $2000.00. Is this the going price? .....comments please.

Well, I'm no expert, but that seems awfully high. IMHO, that kind of money would be better spent studding the block, if not already done.
I'd do some more shopping.

Take a look under his 1996 - more pipe, more bends, more labor than ours............ and he would not enjoy the small savings produced by mass production - Custom is ....... Custom.

With these cars you gotta pay to play.

Of course, for a mere $18,000 +++ you could do a custom one-off remote turbo install. Find the STS for sale (Classifieds) by Mark99STS and go back in time by reading his posts. Google "mark99sts turbocharged cadillac seville you tube" or something close.

If all you're after is some sound just get a set of new mufflers, problem solved...I had Dynomax Super Turbo's on my '95 and that thing sounded mean.

I can't offer a suggestion, but it seems like it would be less expensive across the border...
