Hey All,
Here's the truncated low down...
Got in car on Sunday morn, started up, check engine light immediately came on.
-Put car in reverse to back out of driveway and the thing bumped into gear.
-Drove up the road less than .5 mi and 1-2 gear shift every time was a loud bump that shook the car.
-Turned around put car in park in driveway, put in reverse again to test and was fine. I drove it to work about 6 miles and it was shifting fine.
-Got out of work to drive across town to other job-Again harsh bump when shifting out of park and 1-2 gear shifts bumped the entire time.
-Turned off car after 6 mile drive of bumping, went into work, came out started car 5 min later and it was shifting fine again.
-After work again about 9 hours later I started the car and it did the same harsh shifting etc. The engine fault code was set.
Ok...Now, I took it to my mechanic and they did a computer analysis on the car and it apparently is the 1-2 gear shift solenoid. Is this probably the cause? AND did I do any more damage driving it around with the bumps? I really would appreciate ANY help Thanks All!!
