can someone please comment. i have a 1996 eldorado and getting an engine check light for code po139. i have already changed all o2 sensors and was told it could be the fuel pressure regulator. i checked the fpr by the post i read earlier that if you disconnect the vacuum line and no sign of fuel is present then it's not bad. is this correct? could the fpr be bad even w/o signs of fuel leaking out the vacuum hose? thanks for any advise with this issue.

Re: 1996 eldorado touring

Wrong Forum. Moved to Seville/Eldorado and thread title corrected.

P 0139 is Heated O2 sensor B1S2 slow response. The pre-cat sensor.

Please post definitions with your codes. It makes diagnosis easier - we don't have them all memorized.

Re: 1996 eldorado touring

sorry, first time posting to site. you said you needed definitions for code po139. from what i have that are possible causes is as follows:
1)oxygen sensor defective 2)fuel system running very rich or lean 3)engine misfire condition 4)fuel pressure very high or low-fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. as i stated could it still be the fpr or could i have a defective o2 sensor?
thanks for any help

That's not a definition. Did you by chance have the codes pulled at AutoZone, and did they give you a print out?

Click on the link sub posted, you'll find definitions there.
