HELLO,

Its been awhile but i have now bought another cadillac. this one is a 1995 ETC with 80k miles on it. the car is fully loaded and runs great!!
I actually was looking for a 1996 or newer ETC but couldn`t find one with low miles and for the 2500 i got this one for.

so my question is, can i put the 1996 dash, center console, and the electronics in my 1995? Im better than a average mechanic and i have located a guy that has a totaled 1996 ETC and he is willing to part with the whole interior for cheap.

I have done this before with a camaro but im not to sure if wiring harnesses will just swap out or not.

Anyhelp on this would be awsome.
thanks in advance
jim

The 95 is an OBD1 vehicle while the 96 was the first year for OBD2. I do not believe the 96 IPC along with the a/c control panel and whatever else runs off the IPC would be compatible with the OBD1 PCM in the 95. And you can't change the PCM to an OBD2 one, because then the powertrain wouldn't be compatible.

thats the same problem that i ran into with my camaro when i did the swap, the 1994 car was obd1 and the 1997 dash and wiring harness was obd2.

i was able to get the swap to work right but it took alot of work to repin the 40pin connector at the firewall. If it could be done on this car than im up for the challenge.
I was hoping that someone else had tried this before and could maybe shed dome light on this subject..

just for the interior layout, its much nicer than the 1995 style IMO.

Plus you get the dual zone climate control aswell, the newer style looks so much better then the older ones.

i wish i could put a 2002 sts interior in it, those are sweet!!!
