I have a few questions about my 1994 cadillac sts, and was wondering if this forum could help. This is not my daily driver car, I am fixing it up and making it into a nice summer car. It has 225000kms and the engine runs great, but I was wondering about performance. Are there supercharger kits available for the 94 sts? If not could I use another one for a 4.6l engine? Also I heard about water injection kits for added power and better gas mileage could anyone give me more info on these. And a performance camshaft? Are they available ?
Also looking at aftermarket conversion kit for shocks and struts best brands? I was looking at strutmasters

Currently I have cherry bomb exhaust it sounds pretty aggressive but am looking for more aggressive, any suggestions? I was thinking maybe super 44s but am scared it won't sound as good as it does now.

With the rims should I go with a 20" or a 16" cragar style rim ?

Also this might be a bit " out there" but converting to rear wheel drive is it possible? Has it been done ?

Re: 1994 cadillac sts questions

There is nothing you can do to improve your STS performance unless you have very deep pockets.

Yes it has been done and awd also; Trade your 1994 model for 2005 - 2012 STS.

One STS - a 1999 - has been turbocharged - at a one-off cost of over $14,000 to date. Find the threads by Mark99STS. (It has since been de-tuned to run on the street.) No such thing as a supercharger install - and, no, the later 4.6 blower install will not even come close to installing or working.

Otherwise there are NO "power upgrades" - none. You might be able to gain a hp or two with a ECM tune - talk to Wester's Garage in Canada. No power upgrades ??? There is no aftermarket support for the Northstar in the original Cadillac FWD installations. For sand rails, kit cars and Fieros, look at the site for CHRfab - and read the disclaimers. They do NOT make parts for original GM/Cadillac engine installations.

Even your early exhaust system has some severe limitations. A GOOD exhaust shop could mandrel-bend a new 2.5" system and that would give you a few hp up at WOT redline - nothing in the driving rpm band.

Monroe struts and rear shocks, if you need them. Your RSS system is pretty sophisticated as-is, unless it's worn out, and at 137,000 miles - it is.

It's all in these forums and has been discussed to death since at least 2002 (forum origination). I'm surprised that, as a 1.5 year member, you haven't seen all this before.

the engine runs great,
but I was wondering about performance.

I have spent several YEARS compiling a list
of ALL the PROVEN mods available for our Northstar powered
Cadillac Deville - Seville - and Eldorados -

I GUARANTEE each and every one of these mods
will either boost horse power - or give you better gas mileage -
or BOTH -

I don't work for - nor am I affiliated with any of the products listed -

please find the COMPLETE LIST below - between the two RED lines -
if it IS NOT there - it DOES NOT work -

like I said above -
I GUARANTEE that EVERYTHING listed - BETWEEN the red lines - works -

Also looking at aftermarket conversion kit for shocks and struts
best brands? I was looking at strutmasters

strutmasters - arnott - suncore - etc are ALL overpriced CRAP -

go with MONROE -
for struts -
90008-1 - right - and 90008-2 - left -
these kits include EVERYTHING except new springs -

------------------

rear shocks -
Monroe 40046 -
and if you need new air lines - Monroe AK29 -

-------------------

Currently I have cherry bomb exhaust
exhaust noise is a personal choice -
go to YouTube - there are several videos -

With the rims should I go with a 20" or a 16" cragar style rim ?
I HATE the look of ANY wheels bigger than 17" on these cars -
makes them look like CLOWN CARS -

Also this might be a bit " out there"
it's a LOT more than a "bit" out there -

Jay Leno converted an Olds Toronado to rear wheel drive -
how much money do you have?

Obviously, Tayler. you didn't do your homework before you bought your Seville STS. If you had you would have known that these cars do not take to "ricing" or other "boy wonder" modification. Sell the damn thing and buy something you can modify the hell out of!
