Didnt find anything in the top left corner near the hinge. I did find a small black wire with a white stripe (finally) after removing most of the carpet near the trunk pull down. Grounded it to clean metal on body, to no effect.

I'm lost.

All of our's are in the same harness that powers the trunk pull down motor.
You have to pull the carpet out of the way so you can see the wiring harness.
There will be a single wire with a booted end hanging from the harness.
On our seville's and eldorado there is a stud there to ground to.
Ignition switch in run position - engine off
Ground the wire - door locks cycle - keep it grounded for entire procedure
Press unlock on fob
count one
press unlock on fob
door locks cycle
Remove ground or do another fob.
Mission complete

Sorry I forgot the location was different on the Seville vs FWB. I make the connection with a screwdriver. If you don't keep it firmly ground it won't complete.
