Hi Everyone

I am looking at buying a 1992 Seville STS. Very good to excellent, dark green, med to drk brn interior, sunroof. Never driven in winter (will be now!)-- I am in Anchorage.

Any mechanical problems for this year and model that I should be aware of?

This is preNorthstar-- I think that started being the powerplant in 97--- correct?? Is this engine a problem?

Wants 5500$

Anyone have this era Caddie?

Thanks very much-- Rick

I picked up my 92 STS (black on black on black) going on two years ago and have not had any major problems (I replaced a hub).

The car has been very good to me and continues to be. The N* started use in 1993 if I am not mistaken.

I believe the general opinion is that the 4.9 is a solid reliable engine. Note that it doesn't have the same performance specs as the N*.

Nice car. 92 is the first year of the 92-04 bodystyle (with a slight reskin in 98.) Northstars were in 93+ STS and 94+SLS cars. The 4.9 is a solid reliable engine, it might be considered more reliable than the northstar, but it is 70-100hp less than it. $5500 is definately too much for a 92 unless it's spotless with 30k on it.
