When I bought this car, there was no sound coming from the front drivers side speaker. Im looking to fix it now but the audio place said it might be a speaker with its own littl amp built in so I would need another one to replace it with or the sound may not come out right. Advice? True or false? Speaker type needed? Also how can I open the door to look at the speaker? Thank you in advance

Does it have the Bose system? If so, each speaker does have its own amp. There are a couple of companies that repair these.

Yes Bose/ACDelco. are the door speakers the same as the rear? Id like to replace it if its cheaper. Found some speakers on ebay for 60-80$

if 99 Bose speakers are the same I have all 4 speakers and amps that go along with them. If interested, pm me.
They are just taking up space in my basement and I'd like to let them for for a fair price to someone who will use them.
They were in my 99 and worked fantastic, I couldnt let them go with the car.

You mentioned a company that repairs these? Whom might I ask? Any idea how to get the door open? I dont see any screws.
