Hello My Name is John. Got the car 2 weeks ago and this morning I noticed a hissing noise while accelerating and exhaust fumes coming inside. I stopped to open the hood to find a melted part. I'm not sure what it is but i think it has to do with emissions. Please help me id this part so i can replace it. unnamed45.jpg

That looks like your air injection system.. My guess is the check valve , thats hooked to the hose, has gone bad and is letting hot exhaust gas back into the air system.. If it were me I would change the valve and go to the junk yard for the melted part..

Turned out to be a bad smog pump. Just ended up bypassing it. Car is running fine with no engine light or it throwing a code.
