My buddy has a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood and his running light/license plate light/instrument cluster fuse (fuse #14, 20 amp) keeps blowing?? If you try to put a fuse in with the battery connected it sparks and will shock you. Any suggestions on to why it keeps blowing and is shorting? Would a blown bulb cause it to do that? Would the wrong harness for the head unit have any thing to do with it?

If this started after a radio installation it could be the running lamp feed to the radio is married to the battery memory feed to the radio.

If the fuse still blows with the running lamps off the above may be the issue.

It can be fixed by installing a diode in the right place.

Yah, what happens if you just unplug the harness?

Otherwise, the lights likely don't have any permanent hots, but research whether the IP does, and then find where it's frayed and making ground in the dash?
