Replacing the speakers in my 1989 Sedan Deville. Old speaker wires are dark green and light green. New speaker wires are red and black....does it matter which goes to which?

You need to keep the same polarity to each speaker - out of phase speakers sound spacey and weird with no proper imaging or location sonic cues.

Dark green + goes to red

Light green - goes to black.
