Before I got my Brougham I was not familiar with a vehicle that had all those bracing tubes running across the engine compartment. Did earlier versions of this D body have a structural problem, so they added the braces, or has it always been that way, by design ?

When doing work such as replacing the intake manifold gasket, or redoing the valve cover RTV, access would be improved by removing some of these braces. Can you just unbolt them and remove them while you are working on these items, then reinstall them when finished, or is there something that they need to be installed in a certain precise position that needs to be marked before removing them, so they go back exactly as they were originally installed ?
