hello i had a problem with my car overheating so i changed the radiator and fans thermostat, coolant temp sensor and just did a radiator flush however when i have the cap off and fill the radiator the coolant moves up and flows over and out of the radiator, the upper hose is very firm and i can feel bubbling inside it, doing a lot of reading and i hope its not a head gasket which would be a expensive fix, could it be the water pump? also when it put the radiator fluid in it does look like its circulating. they does have a tester you can put in the coolant to see if it has exhaust gasses do those work. thank you

i think i fireguard it out i removed the thermostat to troubleshot the overheating problem and left off the radiator cap i wanted to see if the coolant pump was working and sure enough the coolant moving freely in the radiator and no more bubbling in the upper radiator hose ran it for about 20 minutes and no problem, hope that was the issue but keeping my eye on it

If the WP is spinning, it's doing it's job and not the problem.
Sounds like you found the problem. Replace the stat and see if the solves your problem.

As for the HG's, they are doable with the engine in the car, no need to pull it like the Northstar, thus easier and not as expensive.
