I Own A 1985 Cadillac Seville, I Am Having A Big Problem With The Electrical System, I Have Gone Through 9 Alternators In 2 Years, I Have Checked Everything That It Can Be, I Just Cannot Find The Short That Is Causing This Drain On My Alternator, It Is Very Frustrating.

Has Anyone Had The Same Problem, If So Is There A Way To Fix It At All?

Was There A Problem With The Fuse Box?

Was There A Problem With Any Of The Regulators?

Anything?

Please Help :(

Please Check The Smog Pump Belt Tension, If The Belt Is Loose, It Will Allow The Alternator Belt To Slip As Driven. The Alternator Belt Wraps Around The Water Pump Pulley Only. The Smog Pump Belt Wraps Around The Water Pump And Crank Pulleys. It Happened To Me. Causes Misdiagnosis Of A Weak Alternator. Quickest Way To Tell If Too Loose, Is That You Will Be Able To Rotate The Alter. Pulley By Hand Against Normal Rotation. Tightening Just The Alter. Belt Will Not Correct This Slippage. Hope This Helps. Please Reply On This Thread.
