I'm having startup trouble. My 81 seville has the 4-6-8 engine which only runs on 8 cylinders now. Which is great except for ruff idle at startup and it seems to go up and down until car warms up.

Sometimes the car will stumble as i pull away as well. It feels like it wants to stall.

Yup!.........well sorta.....but not like The Holley or Rochester we remeber.

Back in 1981 Ford was busy screwing up a better idea with a variable venturi carburetor while GM was busy mucking up a perfectly good carbureted V8 in efforts to meet Federal mandated guidelines. Thank goodness both ideas are now history by the wayside. Both ideas seemed great on the drawingboard and preliminary testing, but were disasters in the field.

NO fuel injected

Well, if it was carburated, I was going to suggest the accelerator pump as your discription sounded somewhat like bogging on acceleration, but if it is TB injected, then that would be ruled out.
