Hi everyone,

The smog pump on my 76 500 is making a ton of racket. If I can, I'd like to eliminate it.

Cadillac High Performance has the BL57 kit for my application (single drive A/C and P/S) that involves getting a harmonic balancer to replace the lower pulley/balancer setup. Unfortunately it is on back order with not ETA on being back in stock.

Do I have any other options? Mish-mash of pulleys, etc. from other years? Modified alternator mount? Different alternator mount? Just suck it up and buy a new pump?

Thank you
Brett

If you can still find one , off a 77-79 car with a 425 motor non calif. and get the crank and water pump pulleys . they don't have the pump on those cars. With those pulleys the air pump does not drive the water pump. so all you need is those two pulleys.

I just thought of another thing. You can take the tube out that goes to each head and use dimes to plug the holes.
