Does anyone know what size axle nut a 1969 Cadillac Eldorado has? The set of sockets I have only goes upto 36mm which is too small. I'd rather just get the right size instead of buying every size bigger than 36mm.

Good question, I bought a 1 inch drive socket set from Harbor Freight instead of individual sockets. If you want to figure it out cut a piece of cardboard to fit and measure it.

1" drive? Sweet. I have a bunch of 1/2" sockets. Dad has 3/4" stuff and BIG breaker. Huge difference in ease of nut removal. Yes he has 1" drive stuff too.

I've cracked a couple and just weld them up and destroyed a couple extensions. I had to modify one for some reason and every time I open the box I think "wonder what I did that for"...
