Wow, looks like awesome paint and the bags are cool too.

I need some basic info on airbags. Like, what's a cost for a system like that? They use engine driven compressors with air tanks in the trunk, right? I'd like something where I had side/side and front/back control to help with launching the 75, that's possible, right?

the setup i am using is: (4) firestone 2600 bags, (8) gc extreme 450 1/2" valves, (2)5 gallon tanks, (2)viair 380 electric compressors, 10 switches, all 1/2" airline. i will be adding a york engine driven compressor for quicker fill times. go to suicidedoors.com for a complete kit. you can get it all for under $1100. you will have to fabricate the brackets and trim up the spring pockets up front. suicidedoors.com makes a do it yourself plate/cup kit which would be your best bet. this setup will give you all the moves...front, back, side to side, pancake, seesaw, and you have control over each individual wheel. make sure you go with nothing smaller than 1/2" valves and line.that'll keep the setup moving fast. thanks for the compliments too.

Sweet. The car looks great.

I have collected all the parts to do my 71 Pontiac full size, but haven't had the time to get to it. I have just one tank and one Viair - do you think I will need two of each? I don't want to dance or hop, just up and down. My valves are 1/2, as well, and the bags are Slam Specialties. I am going to do a 6 valve and just have front/rear (extra valves in the front to control side to side sway when cornering).

Here's the car as it sits waiting (and dusty)

I have done two cars now with air bags, a 2005 Magnum and my current project a 1972 Chevelle. The best system I have found for older rides is made by Air Ride technologies a bit more expensive but well worth the cost. They make a bag and spring together in one to avoid refrabricating the front suspension. I just bought a 1968 DeVille Convertible and will start on it as soon as the Chevelle is done.

Way to bring up a three year old thread?

jayoldschool: You must sell me your Parisienne immediately, I still haven't found a replacement for the one I crashed two years ago :)

Very, very, very bad ride! I just love the over-under headlights. My buddy had a '67 Pontiac Lemans in high school with same style headlights. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Good luck with the projects, and keep'r shine'n !
