hey guys, ive always loved working on cars. I finally turned 16 and now i own a Cadillac cts! its a 2004 v6 3.6l with 50k mileage in all black. All the parts are in stock and i want to trick this thing out before school starts. :cookoo: i want to make it look something like this.. :2thumbs:
now here the questions...
1. where can i find these tinted headlights? they dont seem to be anywhere?
2. where can i find this body kit? ive only seen the saronas and the vip racing style ones.
3. im interested in getting an air intake for less the $250...
4.I need some new rims. im thinking of getting something in aluminum with black.sizes 17-20. but i dont know what the tire sizes would be...
5. i need a nice looking stainless steel exhaust tip. i will need one for each side. i would go to the local store and get some, but the problem with it is that the exhaust tips are facing down. Idk if i should just cut them and just get straight ones?
1. tint your headlights yourself
2. i dont think thats is really much a body kit, more so a V front end and maybe side skirts
3. new intake for less than 250? make one or do Gaetano's and Mike's stock air box mod. unless used, you will have trouble finding a Volant or K&N for that price
4. the stock rims are aluminum, the rim offset for out cars is 38-42
5. for exhaust tips, best thing to do imo is get a full CTS-V exhaust which has really nice tips already, or get the E&G Classics tips
you may also want to look into doing the clear fog/drl mod (gets ride of the orange drl light), costs about $20 and is pretty easy to do.
you can also get clear or smoke side markers on ebay
that car pictured also has a new hood, i want to say its from Specter Werks but im not sure, ive only ever seen their modded Corvettes, it just looks like there stuff
do what andrew said, and btw there is a rule against putting aftermarket rims on the CTS that are not 20". i dont know who makes these rules but who am i to go against them....those who have bought 18 or 17 always here " that would look better in a 20"
what you have here is the Cadillac CTS-V by Predator Performance : 806 ch
that car is prep for showing there stuff...
i especialy like there hoods with extractor... and yes it's made by Specter Werks.
Wow hahaha this is hilarious, first me, then Kad4life, now Cads4life, ok Ill make you guys a deal, ill play the dad you guys are my kids hahaha :histeric:
on a serious note, how much money do you want to spend? Cause that car your looking at is a twin turbo V with Specter Werkes Flares lol haha
Looks wise tho, thats still a lot of money, woah woah waoh, i just read, you wanna trick it out before school?? damn I know what it feels like to drive a bad ass car to school, We can walk you thro the modding, and where are you located??

yeah i thought about last night.. im planning only going up to 18. but i dont know whether i should get 17s or 18s. And thanks.. ill change the my username for you guys.. it seems to create a confusion
Yeah here you go Mike, CTS-V Predator

Heres the parts list where you can buy them but their expensive as hell for some fender flares
Specter Werkes; said:
Finally, for the driver that wants that all-out road and track look of the wide bodied World Challenge CTS-V, Specter Werkes offers the wheel flairs. Sure to turn heads and lower track times.

Technical I'm not the first either, I think it says it in the post lol. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just saying their not a cheap alternative to a full body kit. I think their worst as far a cost.
Cads4life(so weird spelling that ahaha) what are you looking to do? you kind of have to make a decision soon, because if your gonna do body work, figure paint time, prep, shipping, assembly, soooo what you looking for??? lol
oh and some pictures of YOUR CTS ASAP!! haha like right now
haha ill get some pics of it soon.. i had one in my phone..but my sync card seems to be messed up.
the things i want mainly done on it is..
1. tint all headlights ,fog lights, tail lights
2.paint the calibers ( i can run to a local paint shop and buy some of the real deal car paint that will can outhold high temperature or just buy a spray can for calibers in regular colors like blue, red, yelow, black, silver)
3. install an intake. idk what kind to get.. ive seen some at auto stores,so many to choose from ,although installing it shouldn't be a problem.
4. i want rims size either 17 or 18. i was looking at the getting something similar to those tis 07 black.(tis doesnt sell sizes lower then 20 =/ )
Possibly-but is it worth it???
1.a body kit. not sure yet. i can find a pretty decent one for a about $1200.
2.a hood scoop
the headlight/ taillight tint is made by VHT and is called Nite Shade.. you should be able to buy it at any auto store, or store with an automotive section.
non-functional hood scoops are gay, buy a civic if you want that retarded crap.
Volant and K&N make bolt on intakes and would most likely be better than a universal kit from the store. volant is in a closed box which helps keep out the hot air from the engine bay. the K&N filter is exposed and creates a sucking/rasp-drone noise because there is no box.
buy actual caliper paint, or atleast high-temp header enamel
in the back of my mind i see your CTS quickly becoming riced out, maybe not, i could be thinking something other than you are... but it is yours, so do as you please.

i so agree with you and especially that last comment, but he is 16 and he has is own taste. just like some of the other young guys in here that put some of that other goofy stuff on there cars. and i wont say no names on that one...lol
you have a pretty pricey list possibly. if money isnt a concern, then why not get some nice 20s, buy some tinted LED tailights, smoked sidemarkers off of ebay and take your car to a tint shop and have them tint the DRLs and headlights
maybe with the sarona or however you spell it body kit it could look ricer, but other than that i think he's doin the norm, hold on Cads, ill grab ya some nice links..
If it were my car....... I would black out everything (dont touch the chrome tho) , HIDs, mesh grill with chrome trim and paint the mesh black, chrome exhaust tips, chrome licensee plate in the back (just to makes it look nice), get some 20" black rims with a chrome lip ( i would recommend a five star rim), and then get it dropped.
It may seem like a lot of chrome, but its really not when you picture the car in your head
If my CTS was black then this is what i would have done the first week i had it, but i do understand the money issue.
The total expensive would be around $3,000, but if your tight with a shop then maybe around $2,000-2,800.
just dont degrade your cadillac to a civic if you know what i mean

Cads4life if your looking for an intake go to Blackcadillac91's "I hate my volant" or something, youll see some goodies in there, and stick with the 3.2l threads right now to learn
Hey check out my new calibers/calipers lol.. they turned out better then i thought they would..i thought they would be g@y.
ive been working on them all day. cant wait to get some new rims on it.
that is actually a fairly quick job...last time i painted mine, it took all of an hour to do all 4, but then again i didnt take the time to really clean them and buff them up before painting...and obviously he didnt either
My way of doing it would be to to take the caliper/brackets off, wire brush clean, paint then reassemble, I assume you guys are just leaving them on,masking tape over the shoes then shoot em?? lol
I think im gonna be a lil crazy and polish them, to compliment the black rims...
They sell brake caliper paint that is in a can that you brush on. That's what I use. No need to use spray paint and have to mask or remove the calipers.
i clean and buff them then paint them once a year...but the other few times i just mask them off and touch up paint them the other few times
