My 2009 base CTS is at 149,000 miles. I'm taking it into an independent service garage to have the following done.

New spark plugs

Replace transmission fluid and filter.

Flush coolant and replace with Dexcool only.

Replace differential fluid and additive.

Is it important that the coolant be replaced with the Dexcool or can you use the universal coolant?

Is there any other maintenance that I should have done?

Thanks

I can't give a definitive answer with technical backup, but if the Dexcool has held up well then why "reinvent the wheel"? That is what I would use personally.

Someone at Cadillac mentioned the throttle body cleaning. I'm thinking maybe I should just take it to Cadillac. Thanks Elvis
The car doesn't have a true PCV valve but it does have a sort of orifice tube in the driver's side valve cover. You might want to replace that and the air filter as well. Clean the throttle body.
