15000 miles--does front dif fluid need to change?

I have a 2004 Escalade AWD with 22000 miles. I took in today for some service and an oil change. The adviser said I need to change the front dif fuild and that is it a normal 15000 service item. But he did bable a little when I ask him if it is really needed saying it sometimes gets dirt in it. I live in Dallas and do local and freeway driving--no off road. I have in on a Smart Buy and will be turning in at 42000 miles.
Does this need to be done?

he is upselling you something you do not need. Look they say not to change the transmission fluid til 100,000 miles or 50,000 if you do a lot of towing. Generally front and rear ends i would, at a minimum change at 50k. Tell the service advisor to get a second job if he needs the money that bad.

I change all my fuilds to synthetic oils at the first oil change, they just protect better than standard oils. I change my rear's, transfer case and transmission oils every 25k miles, probably overkill but I do it myself so there is no labor costs. The service manual shows NO changes to the front or rear diff's up to and including 100k miles (that is way too long) and shows the trans fluid change at 100k, you will probably need to replace your trans if you would wait that long.
