We are currently at the beach. Our car stalled a couple of times once we got here… took it to Advance and it pulled a code P2227- barometric pressure sensor. We got the part, but can’t seem to find the location. Can someone help me with the location of this on the 2015 ATS

Same thing happened to us. Our oil was changed and now it pulling a code P2227- barometric pressure sensor. We ordered the part on Amazon but now can’t find its location. Please help!! Stuck at the beach with no car that works properly is the worst.

Moved and edited from a long dead thread on a totally different vehicle. Sub.

A MAP or BARO sensor will be somewhere in the intake ducting or intake manifold itself.

Look at your car parts in the RockAuto online catalog and see if you can find the part by using the little INFO tabs for pictures.

MAP - (Manifold Absolute Pressure) -

Yes, many different possibilities - maybe near the throttlebody - the part that houses the accelerator butterfly - right at the intake end of the intake manifold.

Your 2.0T engine uses a multi-function sensor for mass airflow, intake air temperature, and barometric pressure. It is mounted in the air intake tube where it exits the air filter housing.

Be careful removing the connector or you will have a bigger issue with broken wires in the connector!

You are welcome!

I believe the MAP sensor for a 2.0T is designed to read pressure post turbo so it is a different sensor and is located in the "boosted" air stream instead of at atmospheric pressure which is where the multifunction (including baro) sensor lives.

I believe the MAP sensor is located under the cover on top of the engine but you don't need to worry about this one if barometric pressure sensing is the issue.

Codes : OBDII diagnostics. Trouble codes description for GM

Sensor circuit problems ...........

Any chance you have rodent damage to the engine wiring? Squirrels, rats, and mice WILL chew the insulation off of automobile wiring - just a shot in the dark.

.....or has anything been done to the air filter or intake air ducting system? Air intake blocked/obstructed ?

I have a 2014 caddillac ats and it will not accelerate, it'll crank and drive but will climb from 0 to 30 like it's pulling a mountain behind it. No power at all, it's like driving a single cylinder car. I checked the codes and it's showing Barometric Pressure Sensor and when I look online to find a replacement, it's showing up as a MAP Sensor so my question is, is there a different, did cadillac combine both into one Sensor or is the Barometric Sensor located somewhere else. I did find the MAP Sensor which looks identical to what pops up when I search for the Barometric Sensor.

Hey Williwslee134. I found the same thing in my car ( 2014 ) it’s died on my wife, I’m currently looking for one to change it out, would that fix the problem on it stalling? I took it to autozone and the code reads the Barometric pressure sensor is the culprit, funny part is, that on their screen, even tho it says that’s the problem, it also says ( item not required)
