What size tires did you use? I was told by a rim shop to put 235/35/20 tires on. They said they would work. What do you suggest?

Did not require spacers and have never rubbed once.

I just put CT6 20x8.5 wheels on my 2019 CTS.

 

I live in Chicago I never had a blowout and I went with 255/35/20 Michelin Pilot sport 4s

What size are the tires? And where did you get the center caps? I got the same ones but they’re starting to color fade from rain

If you live in Northern Ontario and the volume of potholes we get each spring you'd have plenty of busted wheels with this setup. I'm sure your roads are better than mine though. There's a contest every year for the worst pothole in Ontario, and my city wins every year lol.

 

I think I’ll be ok. I’ve had 2 other vehicles with 35 series tires and never had and blowouts or damaged wheels. It rides 1000% better than the 17” with run flats. Best decision I’ve made with this car.

I live in Sarasota FL. It doesn’t get colder than 50-55 degrees all year and there’s a ton of money here so, yeah the roads are pretty nice. Not really any potholes around here.

 

The tires are continental extremecontact DWS 06. 245/35/20. I had to use 5mm spacers on the front because the tires were just barely touching the struts. Did you have to go with spacers for your 255’s? I got the whole package from Detroit wheel and tire. They should be able to sell you just the center caps.

 

I didn’t have to use spacers. I rub against the fender liner when I turn all the way. I might try spacers see if they help and I think you have to put spacers on all sides if you have awd

Did your spacer come with a lip on it or without a lip? I look up the spacer company that you provided. Was looking at the 5mm spacer but did not know if I need the lip?

235/35/20 tires on an 8.5” rim would be stretched and would not provide very much wheel protection. It would also be a more rough ride and look dumb in my opinion.

 

I didn’t get the one with the lip. They machine it perfectly to fit. I would call them when you put the order in just to make sure you don’t make a mistake. The online order form can be confusing.
