'13 black screen (comes on sometimes)

Screen lost touch response a whileee ago then it got the spider web cracking affect and about 2 months ago it went black.

Replaced the screen with a cuescreen.com and was still black

now it comes on sometimes.

Is everything pointing to the HMI module here?

dealer said $180 pro replace the cue when I took it in prior to replacing the screen so I feel like they just looked at it saw a black screen with the shatter affect and said yea need to replace the whole cue and didn’t run any diagnostics to see if the HMI or a radio modules were respsonsive….

Any help or input is appreciated and if your aroundRI, MA, CT and can help, please lmk

It can be the CUE unit itself, the HMI, or a loose connection. Only thing you could try yourself is the connections, rechecking the ones on the CUE and also on the HMI. These might be helpful for the HMI:

I recently replaced the screen and made sure all those connections and ribbons were good upon putting the cue back in the dash

if I have a friend use a scan tool, is there something specific it will say if the HMI isn’t responding?

Mine was black also, I went online and found this: remove the Radio-DVD fuse in the trunk then replace it, my screen came back on, but know the car won't shift out of park, any help would be great.

A scan with the proper tool will show up codes pointing to faults in the system such as HMI.

You could try a reset by disconnecting the NEG cable for about 30 min. Then reconnect (you may have to redo your presets such as seat positions).
