I just had the FG2 shocks (thanks Luke!) installed at my local Cadillac dealership (Symes Cadillac in Pasadena, CA). I told them I wanted to keep the old shocks to possibly sell on eBay or one of you friendly folk here (13,500 miles on them)... I look in the box with the 'old' shocks, and one of the fronts is an Fg2 (part #88962952) while the other front and both Rears are FE4. WTF?

So my questions are, is it easy enough for me to check if they in fact installed all the new Fg2s and just didn't throw one of the 'new' shocks in the 'old' box? Will I be able to see the part # (or the dotted or non-dotted border) by just getting under the car with a flashlight? Or, is it possible the car came from the factory with one performance shock and one standard shock in front? Thanks for any help.

On my FG2s the part numbers are clearly visible from underneath the car. You may need to jack up the car or put it on rhino ramps to get underneath it though.
