my car gave me a p0008-00 code and so im on rockauto and im looking at cloyes and melling for kits and while i know both are good, i wanted something different and so i decided to go with ina brand, because mace engineering only sells that setup and i did some reading on the ina brand and i like what i read.

now rockauto has 4 kits to pick from zc0063k, zc0064k, zc90753s, zc90753sx, i know 2 kits have sprockets and 2 dont but i dont understand what else are the differences to cause major price differences. i even went to the ina website and cant solve my question. engine and car is a 2009 cts4 with the 3.6l llt.

The safest bet is to stick with the OEM supply chain for timing components. Will aftermarket parts work? Maybe. You can be the guinea pig like that poor guy who went through a couple sets of Cloyes Chinesium. I think he disassembled the front of his engine 3 times.

so i finally got a reply back from the company, and the answer i got was that the kits are identical to each other in parts. its just that they are phasing out the older kit/number with a newer kit which is the zc90753s/x.

update: i ordered the ZC0064k kit from rockauto and it was at my door in like 4 days :). and upon first impressions was, this is heavy and it smelled like crayons. one side of the box does have a made in china stamp and the other side says contains quality components purchased for the schaeffler group, but if it was made in china i could not tell you it was. it looks like you just had a machine shop make these parts fresh, all the parts have very nice machining and no poop looking castings, and there is laser etching on each part. now granted this is my first timing chain kit so i cant compare cloyes or melling, but im no stranger to quality machined parts and these fit the bill nicely.
